Better than any other good you can hope to acquire, is the habit of cultivating the presence of God in your daily life. I've tried to suggest already what I mean by that. I mean pulling yourself up at odd moments during the day. . .not fixed times - pulling yourself up just in those few seconds while your mind is unoccupied, and letting it dwell on the thought of God. God, not far away somewhere in the clouds, but close to you all the time, his Spirit enfolding and embracing your spirit, closer than hands or feet. No need to utter any vocal prayers, no need even to make any act or form any aspiration with your will, just let your mind rest, for a moment on the thought of him. Don't wait till the hour of temptation comes, and betake yourself to panic-stricken prayer. Make a practice of living as far as possible in his presence.
