Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry: True Stories of Padre Pio, a new book by Diane Allen, is published by Aventine Press and contains 47 chapters and 403 pages. The book is a glimpse into the life and spirituality of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, who has often been called "The greatest mystic of the 20th Century."
More than thirty individuals, all who knew Padre Pio personally, were interviewed for this first edition book. The author and her husband, Deacon Ron Allen, have traveled to many parts of the United States in order to record the personal testimonies of Padre Pio's friends from near and far.
Other chapters in the book which examine Padre Pio's unique spirituality are titled, The Transverberation, The Extraordinary Perfume of Padre Pio, Padre Pio's Way of the Cross, Padre Pio's Love for the Virgin Mary, Padre Pio's Holy Death, and more.
About the author: Diane Allen, a graduate of Pepperdine University, has been writing the quarterly Padre Pio publication, Pray, Hope, and Don't Worry since 1999. Her writings on Padre Pio have appeared in the North American Voice of Fatima magazine, the Voice of Padre Pio magazine and in Canticle magazine. Diane and her husband, under the spiritual direction of Father Louis Solcia, CRSP, are the leaders of a large Padre Pio Prayer Group in San Diego, California.
